Location: Worcester Hospital, WR5 1DD

Hours: Monday to Friday 08.30-16.30, 37.5 hours

Pay rate: From £21.80

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Worcester Acute Hospital for an enthusiastic physiotherapist to join their dynamic and welcoming team.

The trust is delighted to offer this opportunity to a passionate and forward thinking individual who has previous experience working within a high pressured, acute, inpatient setting and will be able to join the team and hit the ground running.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Previous NHS Experience at a band 6 level within an acute inpatient setting
  • Familiar with early assessments and complex discharge planning

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Working as an autonomous practitioner, to provide high quality patient focussed care through assessment, diagnosis, development and delivery of individual treatment programmes.
  • To be able to apply knowledge and highly developed skills from a wide range of specialties e.g. respiratory, neurology, musculo skeletal out patients, care of the elderly dependant on given area of speciality underpinned by evidence.
  • To use advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to establish accurate diagnosis.
  • To use judgemental skills and comprehensive knowledge of physiotherapy treatments to formulate individual treatment programmes based on evidence of best practice.
  • To demonstrate a high level of skill in dexterity, co ordination and sensory skills to deliver appropriate treatments selected from a range of physiotherapeutic interventions e.g normal movement, motor relearning, manual therapy techniques, respiratory techniques, use of NIV, exercise therapy, hydrotherapy and electrotherapy dependant on area of speciality.
  • To regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan and adjust the treatment accordingly.

About the Trust:

Worcestershire Royal Hospital is the latest of our three sites. The main hospital was built under the private finance initiative (PFI) and opened in 2002. It provides specialist services for the whole of Worcestershire including stroke services and cardiac stenting.

The state-of-the-art Worcestershire Oncology Centre opened in January 2015, providing radiotherapy services for cancer patients, the first time these services have been available in the county.

The hospital has nine operating theatres including four laminar theatres. It has a level 2 neonatal intensive care unit and a cardiac catheterisation laboratory. The 24/7 Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PPCI) service began in October 2013
