Pensions Administrator

Our established and highly reputable client is seeking to recruit an additional administrator within their New Business team.


You will be responsible for the processing of new SIPP (Self Invested Personal Pension) applications and intermediary applications from new financial advisers within the company’s service level agreements (SLAs).


  • Ensure new SIPP applications meet acceptance criteria
  • Liaise with financial advisers to request any information or documentation required to process applications received
  • Input application data onto administration systems
  • Ensure that financial advisers are kept up to date with the progress of their clients’ applications
  • Request pension transfers and chasing these through to completion
  • Process new pension contributions
  • Process incoming pension transfers and contributions and applying these to the relevant clients’ SIPP accounts
  • Issue welcome packs and other documentation to clients and financial advisers
  • Ensure that all new application processing is completed within company SLA
  • Respond to queries from clients and financial advisers about new applications
  • Process intermediary applications from new financial advisers
  • Assist with the maintenance of the New Business Teams email mailbox
  • Process incoming post
  • Answer and deal with incoming telephone calls within company SLA
  • Contribute towards the preparation of team management information
  • Identify and refer any new business trends and patterns to management
  • Support complaints investigation and resolution
  • Suggest improvements to - and assist the Process Team and Business Analyst with - the New Business Team procedures and processes
  • Assist with testing new system functionality as and when required
  • Complete other work as and when required in accordance with the needs of the business




GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C or above

Specific Experience:


Demonstrable customer service experience

Experience of working in a regulated financial services environment

Experience of working in a data input role

Experience of adhering to policies and processes in a work based environment

Demonstrable experience of working to service level agreements and deadlines

Administration in a Financial Services environment

  • Good telephone manner

  • Ability to input data accurately and within company key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Ability to take and type up clear, succinct and sufficiently detailed notes of telephone conversations
  • Ability to write clear, succinct and sufficiently detailed updates on applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other internal departments
  • Ability to deal with complaints in accordance with the company policy
  • Able to follow a procedure, process and checklist
  • Self-motivated, ambitious and decisive
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure to deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team and be able to identify when it is necessary to seek advice and support
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong/intermediate Excel skills
