Part time Accounts Assistant20/25 Hours a week Job description
An opportunity has arisen in a fast growing business in Braintree as they require an experienced bookkeeper/accounts assistant to integrate themselves within the business and take ownership of the day to day accounts function, reporting into the Financial Controller.
The role is part time with a total of between 20- 25 hours work each week. The role is flexible in relation to the daily hours worked Monday to Friday.
Reporting directly into the Financial Controller you will be responsible for the maintenance of the company's accounting records for all aspects of the business, including day to day running of the weekly payroll for the temporary workers.
Experience in payroll is an advantage, if you are AAT qualified this would also be beneficial for the role alongside a minimum of 5 years' experience working in an accounts office. The company use sage as their reporting tool so knowledge and experience with this accounting package is also an advantage but not essential. You will also be involved in aiding the Financial Controller with detailed management reporting which requires strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Processing of weekly temporary payroll
Bookkeeping on Sage including:
Bank reconciliations on sage
Reconcile Weekly cash movements
Produce weekly margin reports
Maintenance of sales ledger and credit control
Maintenance of purchase ledger
Maintaining Petty Cash records
Assisting Financial Controller with management reporting
