Location: Parkside Offices, Fleetwood

Hours: 35 hours per week

Job Purpose:

The Operations Team Leader is responsible for a team of staff whose primary duty is to process all HH, NHH, AMR/SMART supply contracts / data flow items within industry timescales and processes and procedures. The person appointed will champion the team processes and procedures, engage field and office staff, be customer focused, commercially aware and adept at organising, planning and prioritising their workload. In addition the post holder will manage and control up to 12 administrators, as well as managing performance of activities, ensuring internal and external demands are answered complying with industry standards. They will liaise closely with other Managers to identify any procedure and system related problems which could lead to any non-compliance with the standards set by OFGEM and Elexon. This role is critical in ensuring that all KPI’s and internal processes are well defined and compliance targets are achieved.

This role is critical in ensuring that customer contract, billing and all field activity is based upon the correct data and also that the data is age compliant. This is a key role dealing with complex and high profile (age, value) data flow issues that require Electricity and Gas dataflow knowledge as well as an understanding of systems, relationships with external agents, suppliers and overall regulatory framework. There is a requirement to work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure smooth delivery of activity in order to enhance the customer experience and provide regular reports on progress and maintain accurate and reliable data.

The role holder should be able to adapt to change, work under pressure in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail to deliver agreed workloads to a high standard. There is considerable scope for the role holder to plan and prioritise own workload. The jobholder’s principle challenge derives from organising and managing an experienced team of administrators on a day to day basis as well as delivering staff development and appropriate succession plans.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A working knowledge of electricity and gas processes or data flows.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Experience of adopting new working practices.

  • Experience of managing Performance and getting the best out of administrators and processes.

  • Experience of working in a Compliant Industry with examples of eradicating non-compliance.

  • Ability to motivate and manage a team of Administrators and the ability to manage activities via virtual teams through external service providers.

Technical and Commercial Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate and justify a position effectively.

  • Consistently achieves successful delivery against stretching personal and team targets.

  • Experience of adopting new processes that deliver against rolling targets.

  • Quick learner who is willing to learn and to take responsibility.

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to present complex ideas and concepts to a variety of stakeholders.

  • Experience of using Junifer, CRM, ECOES, Xoserve and Microsoft Office to Intermediate standard.
