JG160 – Operations Manager

Location: Cranleigh

Salary: £32,000 - £38,000

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently supporting a client in the search for an Operations Manager.

The client is a small family-owned business in Cranleigh, offering specialist plant hire and transportation services. This role would require someone to oversee day-to-day operations at the office, working 0700 – 1700 Mon-Fri.

Experience / knowledge of the plant and transport industries would be highly desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build working relationships with co-workers, third party suppliers and clients.
  • Arrange daily work schedules, servicing, MOTs, Tacho-tests etc.
  • Encourage drivers in the completion of their work to meet tight schedules.
  • Understand workforce's skills to determine the best way to meet client requirements.
  • Price chargeable works, haulage jobs & ad hoc hire work, including making site visits when required.
  • Deal with paperwork, phone calls and email enquiries
  • Ensure smooth completion of repairs to the hire fleet, from initial report, ordering parts & completion of repairs.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous practical experience or understanding of heavy machinery &/or HGV’s.
  • Be a dynamic problem solver.
  • Team player
  • Convey an atmosphere of reliability & mutual trust with colleagues / clients.
  • Act with a sense of purpose and personal agency
  • Have the ability to juggle a variety of tasks.
  • Driving Licence
