As a Operations Manager, you’ll will be required to establish and implement distribution and operational plans for the Distribution Centre to meet current/future customer service requirements and continually improve cost efficiency/quality of service in line with the Group and Regional goals.

You’ll be responsible for the following:

  • Distribution Centre Operational Plans – establish and review;

  • Operational Plans, Responsibility Budgets and KPIs/Performance Targets;

  • Financial control within budgetary remit - contribution to Group and Regional distribution and operational efficiency;

  • Distribution Centre Cost Budgets;

  • Staff Recruitment/Retention – recruit, train and develop direct reports;

  • Staff Training & Development Plans – implement Distribution Centre succession plan;

  • Health & Safety and Legal obligations – adherence to Company policies and procedures & ensure Group H&S policy is implemented and adhered to;

  • Customer Service;

  • Specified Project Management;

  • Communication Cascade (two-way);

  • Distribution Centre Security;

  • Distribution & Operational strategy in line with Group and Regional goals;

  • Control of fixed assets;

  • Achieve maximum operational efficiencies on site and achieve route profitability in line with operational goals.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 3 years management experience within a warehouse/distribution operation and a full understanding of current commercial vehicle legislation;
  • Man management, commercial, analytical and communication skills;
  • Change manager;
  • CPC or prepared to study and gain qualification.
