Mortgage Operations Manager

The Mortgage Operations Manager will be responsible for key operational tasks within the mortgage function and support the senior management team in the effective delivery of the business strategy. This includes the oversight of external business partners and the professional panel, internal projects and people development. In addition, to assist in the delivery of new mortgage products, process enhancements and system development.

  • Work with the management team on the identification, planning and implementation of new mortgage products, within the first charge, second charge and BTL markets.

  • To drive a culture of continuous improvement through effective policy, process and practice reviews.

  • Ownership of new introducer appointments and the monitoring of the existing broker, network and mortgage club panels.

  • Monitor third party suppliers relevant to the function, such as IT and sourcing system suppliers

  • Monitor he professional panel of solicitor and valuation firms.

  • Complete regular reviews of the broker and underwriting Portal to ensure accuracy of output and maximise the external and internal customer journey.

  • To work with key stakeholders within other divisions of the Bank including Credit, Compliance, Risk and Internal Audit to achieve the business and operational goals of the mortgage team; and to ensure that regulatory change and best practice principles are adhered to.

  • To assist the management team in the development of staff members and succession planning for key roles within the team.

  • Through appropriate qualitative and quantitative Management Information ensure high standards are set and maintained.

  • Ensure that divisional key performance indicators are met.

  • Adhere to internal policy and regulatory requirements - FCA, PRA, AML, Prevention of Financial Crime, Data Protection etc.

  • Identify opportunities and proactively make recommendations for business development and strategic opportunities.

  • Undertake project and ad-hoc pieces of work at management request.

    The ideal candidate will have had at least 10 years management experience within a operational, credit or lending environment with a strong understanding of the regulatory environment. They will ideally be CEMAP qualified or part qualified with a background in Project management or Business Analysis. The candidate will be joining a fast moving, dynamic environment.
