Mechanical Design Engineer

FINTEC recruit is recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Opportunity in Aberdeen.  Are you a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer seeking a new challenge? Responsibilities:

• Leading on technical solutions for complex mechanical design challenges.
• Conducting detailed design and stress analysis of pressure vessels and structures, overseeing and implementing engineering design changes.
• Preparing comprehensive technical documentation in compliance with design codes and pressure equipment regulations.
• Delivering mechanical engineering system design solutions, while reviewing and approving engineering drawings and specifications.
• Collaborating with relevant classification 3rd parties to strategise and secure design approvals.
• Providing supervision to design engineers and actively participating in design reviews.
• Ensuring customer satisfaction by effectively liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to meet requirements.

Skills and Experience Required for the Senior Mechanical Engineer role:

• Proficiency in Pressure Vessel design utilizing PD5500, ASME VIII, and EN 13445 standards.
• Experience in both design by analysis and design by rule methods.
• Competence in utilizing ANSYS Workbench for pressure vessel analysis.
• Familiarity with MathCAD, Finglow, and Solidworks.
• Knowledge of Class Society Rules pertaining to Diving, Ship’s, and Lifting Appliances.
• Experience in a Pressure Vessel engineering role.
• Experience with PLM systems for generating and storing engineering packages.
