Managing Director

With 50 years of experience in commercial refrigeration, Interlevin holds a leading position in the UK refrigeration wholesale market. The company imports, distributes and sells a range of commercial refrigeration finished products, servicing and spare parts directly to customers, through engineering contractors and via their own website. As part of a planned generation change process, the company has recently been acquired by the Tefcold Group, a business they have been working with for 30 years. Interlevin is now looking for a new Managing Director. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work with a very experienced and talented Tefcold Executive Team, to build on a successful and established business, brand and customer-base and at the same time to identify, lead and exploit further opportunities for growth in the UK market.

The Role:

  • Reporting into the CEO of Tefcold, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy and plan to grow revenue and profitability across the UK Region in line with the company and group expectations.

  • Implement plans to grow the business and brand through existing and new customers and through the identification of attractive new verticals for the business to move into.

  • Hold full P&L, forecasting and budgeting responsibility and to manage the cost and profitability for the business and for each department.

  • Responsible for the purchasing and the pricing strategy and structure for the business with suppliers and key customers

  • Create a best in class e-Commerce strategy to grow finished goods and spare part sales revenue.

  • Define, monitor and report performance against key business metrics.

  • Develop and lead a strong management team within Interlevin.
  • Ensure there are best practice processes to support excellence in supply chain, logistics and customer service.

The Person:

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to develop a strategy for market penetration and then to implement and monitor progress against the plan. Experienced in growing businesses in existing and new verticals.

  • Strong experience in distribution, supply chain, logistics and e-commerce would be highly desirable.

  • Highly people-oriented and an excellent communicator.

  • Comfortable leading and managing an experienced team with the ability to influence others to adopt new ways of working.

  • A strong sales leader who is customer-focused and highly business development oriented. You will have the credibility to build effective relationships with senior decision makers across a range of different sectors.

  • Knowledgeable in implementing lean processes to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Degree preferably in a business or marketing-related subject. MBA is highly desirable.

  • Specific product sector knowledge is preferable but not required. A management consultancy background would be considered.

  • Comfortable travelling across the UK.
