This Management Accountant job in Edinburgh with a leading corporate is an ideal opportunity for a finalist or newly qualified accountant looking for a commercially focussed role. This is a newly created team and is expected to grow quite significantly over the next 6- 12 months. The team has been brought together to provide high quality financial support to key income generating functions based in London. As Management Accountant, you will support several high-profile stakeholders by ensuring the integrity of the P&L and balance sheet for key service lines, whilst also offering value-add analysis and commentary that help your stakeholders with their decision-making process.

As Management Accountant, you will support the month end close processes associated with correctly reporting and independently validating the balance sheet in a timely manner. This will include, but not be limited to reserves or adjustments. The Management Accountant will also provide in-depth P&L commentary relating to markets and product coverage, with detailed analysis of trends, variances and other areas you feel merit further consideration. Naturally, you will be expected to undertake ad hoc project/investigation work at the request of your key stakeholders, whilst looking to work in an ever more efficient manner.

As Management Accountant, you will be expected to develop strong and lasting relationships with several high-profile stakeholders, many of whom will be outwith the finance function. As a number of your stakeholders are not based in Edinburgh, you will from time to time, be expected to travel to other locations. This travel will be kept to a minimum however.

The role is seen as a good entry-level role into the company and is aimed at newly qualified accountants making a first move from professional practice, or candidates at the finalist/newly qualified level in industry who are looking for a more challenging role in a commercial setting.
