Management Accountant

Due to continued growth and success we are looking for a qualified management accountant to join our accounts team.

To provide leadership and discipline in the financial governance, controls, processes and procedures. Specifically:

*To own and be responsible for the month end financial close process
*The provision of monthly management accounts, variance analysis explanations and commentaries
*To provide support to [the Directors and the FD] in a variety of projects, including preparation of the annual Budget and improving the quality of management information and cash flow forecasting etc

Duties and Responsibilities

*Delivery of month end reporting pack to strict deadlines, including commentary to prior month and budget:
- Manage month end reporting and closing of all ledgers
- Balance sheet account reconciliations - including VAT, Stock and Debtors
- Stock and debt provisions
- Revenue recognition calculations
- Gross Margin review and analysis
- Payroll journals, review and analysis
- Review credit card expenses and post journals
- Overheads and staff costs review and analysis

*Weekly cash flow forecasting and flash reports
*Weekly meetings with the depts.
*Weekly meetings with Directors to report on business critical issues e.g aged debtors report, bank account and cash flow etc
*Implementing enhancements to management information and KPI measures proposed by management
*Assisting with the ongoing development and refinement of business processes including sales, purchasing, commission calculation
*Providing year end, budget and forecast support as required
*Other projects as required to support FD and Directors in key internal relationships
*Banking, paying suppliers, credit control, cashflow
*Managing and developing a team of [five] staff
*Maintaining robust financial controls across the businesses
*Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
*Managing statutory audits

Skills Experiences


*Qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
*Previous experience as a Financial Controller
*Thorough knowledge of current accounting principles and procedures
*Prior experience of working in a Recruitment/Business Services environment Finance team
*Process-driven with prior experience with Temp Booking systems
*Experience with integrating systems Sales/Operational/Accounting efficiently
*Detail and solution-orientated with expert Excel skills
*Strong numerical and problem solving skills
*Flexible and hands-on approach
*Quality-driven with good written skills
*Good communicator, able to develop strong business partnerships with other departments
*Able to challenge processes and drive change when required
*Commercially aware
*Positive & Supportive attitude
*Ability to inspire a team

*Prior experience of working with Sage 50 and/or 200
*Good understanding of database structures and/or involvement in ERP systems replacement

Hours of work
Base Hours are [35] hours per week from 9am - 5:00pm, however, due to nature of the role, longer hours could be required.
