What you'll do:
As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing NLP/ML models for a variety of applications. You will be working alongside an enthusiastic team of engineers and leaders to bring new features to life. Your expertise in implementing transformer models, LLMs, statistical NLP algorithms will be highly valued. You will also have the opportunity to work on advanced projects such as multimodal transformers (LayoutMLv3), VDU models like Donut, and RAG models. Your commitment to continuous learning and improvement will be key in this fast-paced tech startup environment.

* Develop and enhance NLP/ML models for various applications including document processing, information extraction, question answering, and report generation
* Collaborate closely with the Engineering team, CTO, and CEO to iterate on new features
* Implement transformer models, LLMs, statistical NLP algorithms, information retrieval techniques using Python and machine learning libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow
* Work on multimodal transformers (LayoutMLv3), and VDU models like Donut
* Develop RAG models with embeddings and continue to fine-tune them through reinforcement learning
* Work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment to bring cutting-edge AI solutions to life

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Lead Machine Learning Engineer role will bring a wealth of NLP expertise, with proven experience in building, deploying, and optimizing NLP systems. You will have at least 5 years of experience in Machine Learning concepts such as deep learning and reinforcement learning. Your hands-on experience with fine-tuning LLMs like Llama-2 or SMoE language models like Mixtral using reinforcement learning will be highly valued. Additionally, your exceptional coding abilities in Python and strong proficiency in machine learning libraries will be crucial to your success in this role. Above all, we are looking for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who is comfortable in an environment of uncertainty and experimentation.

* Strong expertise in NLP including experience building, deploying, and optimising NLP systems
* At least 5 years of strong experience in Machine Learning concepts such as deep learning and reinforcement learning
* Hands-on experience with fine-tuning LLMs like Llama-2 or SMoE language models like Mixtral using reinforcement learning
* At least 3 years of experience using AWS services in machine learning (Sagemaker, Lambda, etc)
* Exceptional coding abilities in Python and strong proficiency in machine learning libraries
* A self-starter attitude with an entrepreneurial mindset
