Junior Bid Coordinator / International Development / Maternity Cover

The Role

The Bid Coordinator will work closely with the Business Development and Management team developing proposals to secure new and renewal business. Day to day you will be responsible for authoring proposals, working closely with International Business team members and relevant stakeholders and all other activity required in the development of proposals. This position is based in West London (Paddington) and although initially is for maternity cover has the potential to be permanent.

The Company

Whizz Education is an international education company, it works with schools, parents and Education Ministries to raise standards in education through innovative and lasting education projects.

It currently seeks a talented bid coordinator to work in the international projects team. To assist the team by coordinating and writing winning bids and proposals for large scale educational projects in the developing country scenario.

Responsibilities and Duties

Deliverables the role needs to accomplish in first 1/3/6 months for the position to have been a success:

Within 1 Month:

  • Gain understanding of Whizz, its expertise, products and its projects and strategy
  • Read and gain an understanding of recent Whizz Education Proposals and Budgets
  • Provide research assistance for any proposals the International Business team are working on to gain a better understanding of our international projects
  • Understand the bidding processes and procedures in place
  • Gain an understanding of the desk-based business development resources and the qualification criteria for reviewing opportunities
  • Start contributing specific areas of prose to project proposals in conjunction with the Bid Manager

Within 3 Months:

  • Develop relationships with all other team members and gain an understanding of how the business development team members operate
  • Start to put into practice existing bidding processes and procedures in place in the work you carry out
  • Carry out desk-based business development, review and qualify opportunities and follow up with relevant business development team members
  • Contribute to writing of project proposals from start to finish under assistance of the business development team
  • Gain an understanding of the proposal process from identification through to submission and follow up

Within 6 Months:

  • Manage the proposal process from identification through to submission (end-to-end) and follow up on proposal outcomes
  • Writing tailored end-to-end proposal content including understanding the requirement, technical approach, contextual approach and budget requirements
  • Use the bid processes and procedures to coordinate proposals from end-to-end
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the International Business department’s goals and objectives, allowing you to contribute ideas to proposal / project design and development

Qualifications and Skills

Background & Experience

  • Background in international development is desired but not essential
  • Must possess a background in writing and putting together bids of you do not have a background in international development
  • Writing experience / background in writing
  • Passionate about education and making an impact on end learners and stakeholders
