Java Developer - Contract - ITSO - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Java Developer to join their ITSO Back Office value stream. You’ll develop, maintain, and support the Transport Club’s HOPS, Fulfilment, and Actora product suites—core systems used nationwide for journey transaction processing and message routing across the UK transport industry.

You will work across both development and DevOps activities, supporting escalations from the Transport Club Service Desk and helping third-party clients use our products effectively. As part of an Agile Scrum team, you’ll contribute throughout the full lifecycle, from design to deployment, while driving ongoing product and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain the HOPS, Fulfilment and Actora product suites
• Provide DevOps-based support for product issues and escalations
• Collaborate within an Agile team to deliver high-quality product increments
• Improve engineering processes, automation, and code quality
• Support third-party users and internal service teams

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Java enterprise development
• Relational databases
• Experience with large-scale enterprise applications
• ITSO knowledge - ESSENTIAL
• Strong engineering best practice awareness
• Automated testing experience
• DevOps deployment & integration skills
• Agile Scrum experience
