Stanton House are supporting a leading Venture Capital firm dedicated to nurturing and driving the growth of innovative businesses to hire a Portfolio Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Portfolio Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the management team of their portfolio companies, ensuring the execution of ambitious plans and strategic decisions backed by financial data and insights.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive support to portfolio companies, ranging from newer incubation ventures to more mature businesses, bridging gaps in Finance leadership as needed.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end finance function for various portfolio companies, encompassing financial and KPI reporting, financial forecasting and modeling, commercial analysis, cash management, financial systems oversight, and FP&A.
  • Implementing and maintaining best-in-class frameworks and practices surrounding compliance and accounting.
  • Engaging with external stakeholders such as shareholders, auditors, banks, professional advisors, and suppliers.
  • Collaborating with Finance shared service colleagues to ensure high-quality operational financial management.
  • Conducting short-term assignments to review and optimize month-end processes, financial controls, forecast models, unit economics, and financial reporting across portfolio companies.

Requirements:

Professional Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant with a minimum of 7 years PQE.
  • Proven experience as a Head of FP&A, Financial Controller, or Finance Director, actively contributing to the growth of businesses from startup to scale-up stages.
  • Track record of serving as a trusted business partner to senior executive teams, driving initiatives and fostering growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead growth strategies, coupled with flexibility to thrive in entrepreneurial environments.
  • Strong business acumen and broad financial perspective, enabling effective advisory support to management and senior leadership.
  • Experience overseeing both accounting and financial planning & analysis functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
