Interim Payroll Manager

Our client is a large, fast-paced business with easily accessible offices based in Huntingdon.

They are now looking for a payroll specialist to join them on an interim basis in a sole payroll position where you will be responsible for the processing of both weekly and monthly payrolls, but also looking at where improvements and processes need to be changed and implemented.

Standard duties will include;

Process weekly and monthly payrolls ensuring a high standard of accuracy is maintained
Process salary increases and role changes including the calculation of relevant back pay
Calculate all statutory and company pay entitlements including sick, maternity and paternity etc in accordance to legislations.
Manage deductions and payments of all pension, company share save, and other company benefits
Processing monthly overtime costs
Work closely with the Accounts team re payroll issues and reconciliations
Process BACS payments for all payrolls
Maintain and update relevant KPI's
Accurately prepare payroll reports as required
Operate payroll clinics to provide opportunities to resolve staff payroll queries and explain tax/payroll deductions
Customise the Payroll software as required re new components, departments., reports, etc.

The more challenging part of this role will involve looking at existing systems and processes, reviewing them and putting in place robust procedures moving forward.

This role will suit someone who enjoys a challenge and has experience of payroll at a hands on and higher level.

Working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director, you will have the ability to make a difference in this role, ultimately leaving it in an organised state for someone at a lower level to run with it on a day-to-day basis.
