Intensive Outreach Worker
Prospectus is delighted to support our valued partner, Herts Young Homeless (HYH), an independent charity who has been supporting vulnerable people across Hertfordshire since 1998. They provide a variety of services to all 16 - 24-year-olds who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. They are now looking to recruit two compassionate and dedicated 'Intensive Outreach Workers'.
As an Intensive Outreach Worker, you will act as the first point of contact to an vulnerable young people aged 18-24 with a significant housing and provide them with advice, guidance and support. This role will include leading, coordinating and implementing a clear plan of support to ensure the care of experienced young persons with significant identified housing needs have their needs met. Where remaining at home isn't an option or appropriate, you'll work to secure alternative arrangements whilst building positive relationships with families and partner agencies to ensure vital early intervention, you'll help shape a brighter future for homeless young people.
To be considered, you will have previous experience of supporting young people and demonstrate an understanding of the problems homeless young people face. You will be personable and have a non-judgemental approach, whilst using your relevant skills thus, providing welcoming support to these vulnerable young people. You will have an understanding of the voluntary sector and possess the ability to maintain positive working relationships with different levels of professionals from a range of different organisations. The ability to work effectively with a varied caseload is essential, as is an excellent understanding of confidentially with strict professional boundaries and personal integrity.
