Business Development Manager – Professional Services Group - London

This is a hybrid role which provides the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London office.

What the day will look like

The Professional Services Group within the Major Complex and Enterprise segment, services clients from Legal, Accounting, Consulting and Design Professional sectors.

Aon’s Professional Services Group (PSG) provides risk solutions to clients in these industry groups within the UK. Typically, focussed on Professional Lines - Management Liability, Professional Indemnity, Cyber and Risk Consultancy.

You will be responsible for achieving new business targets within the segment for the largest prospects, a universe of more than 200 prospective clients. You will build and develop relationships at the highest level with our prospects, understand and appreciate their business strategy and challenges and articulate Aon solutions to suit their needs through leading and customising our service proposition proposals.

How this opportunity is different

Professional and Financial Service clients typically require bespoke insurance programmes, very significant levels of coverage and associated risk management and risk transfer services which reflect their unique requirements.

The decision makers within professional and financial service firms are usually C Suite individuals with partner status within their firms. This role requires the ability to access these senior level individuals and have the credibility to build a relationship with them.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Sales experience essential – preferable in new business
  • Knowledge of, and credibility in front of, the Professional Services client base
  • Insurance experience
  • Professional style – ability to impact and impress in 1:1 prospect meetings
  • General business awareness
  • Results focused
  • IT literate with experience using databases
