Infrastructure Manager

White Stuff requires an Infrastructure Manager to lead a small team, taking responsibility for the technical design and infrastructure operations within White Stuff. Reporting to the Head of IT Service Delivery and Operations you will play a key part in the delivery of a comprehensive roadmap to refresh the IT infrastructure, together with assuming responsibility for the proactive monitoring and support of the existing White Stuff IT estate.

The role requires management of critical third-party suppliers. This will include managing support and monitoring processes with the third-party suppliers.

This role requires a technology enthusiast with strong leadership, organisational and analytical skills. A key part of this role is to plan and manage technology enhancements utilising internal and external resources.

This is a hands-on technical managerial role as you will act as a technical lead across IT projects and act as a senior point of escalation for technical issues.

The position is based at White Stuff’s Head Office – Oval, London. Occasional travel will be required to White Stuff Shops (UK and Europe) and our Distribution Centre and Contact Centre in Leicester.

What you'll be doing:

-Leading a small team of technical professionals including, where relevant, third party staff and suppliers to support, design, implement and maintain technical solutions for the business.
-Planning and organising resource allocation between BAU, incidents, project requirements and Infrastructure improvements.
-Supporting and maintaining the overall IT infrastructure across approximately 130 sites including; networking, storage, servers and applications.
-Providing the strategic lead on infrastructure and systems to enable the department to build class leading tools and services.
-Utilising security, capacity, performance and availability management processes to ensure IT infrastructure meets current requirements and allows for effective planning and forecasting of future demand.
-Estimation and planning of appropriate resources and technical ‘Level-Of-Effort’ required to maintain business and deliver new or upgraded IT services.
-Working closely with the Head of IT and other Senior Stakeholders, define and deliver appropriate enterprise level technical strategies, processes and solutions in line with industry best practice.
-Ensuring best practice is adhered to in terms of infrastructure security including compliance with PCI-DSS, GDPR and SANs standards.
-Ensuring DR Plans are fit for purpose and regularly tested.
-Researching and keeping up to date with emerging technologies.
-Working collaboratively with colleagues in the department to deliver technical solutions to rapidly evolving business requirements.
-When required, provide 3rd line technical support for IT services including on-call cover.
-Build, maintain and manage strong collaborative relationships with third party suppliers.
-Identify and drive continuous technology improvements

Experience you'll need:

-Designing and managing Windows Server based Infrastructure.
-Designing and managing Office365 implementation (including Exchange Online).
-Designing and managing virtual environments (VMWare).
-Network design and support/management including experience with routing, switching and VLAN / VPN configuration (either Cisco or HP).
-Management and Administration of Storage technologies (HP 3PAR).
-Designing and managing Disaster Recovery Environments.
-Strong understanding of digital standards, tools and methodologies and how best to apply and deploy these.
-Comprehensive understanding of existing and emerging technologies and related practices.
-A strong understanding of Infrastructure Security best practice, with exposure to the PCI-DSS standard.
-Good understanding of management principles & practice including team development and performance management.
-Project Management of IT infrastructure implementation.

Other experience we’d love to see:
-Ability to influence, manage and motivate staff through 1:1s and team meetings.
-Experience of working effectively with non-technical stakeholders including senior managers and directors.
-Experience developing business cases and infrastructure strategies.
-Experience managing suppliers.
-Resilient, proactive and positive attitude and approach.
-Ability to author technical documentation

Ideally you’ll have relevant IT certifications such as MCSE, MCITP, VCP, CCNA, etc. and an ITIL v3 Foundation qualification, or relevant working experience.
