Job description

The role

  • To manage the necessary documentation required by environmental regulations in order to collect, transfer and dispose of clinical and hazardous wastes.
  • To have a good knowledge of specific clinical waste documents which are the basis of managing the movements of clinical and hazardous wastes.
  • To work well as part of a team.
  • To perform daily tasks in order to maintain a high level of quality in the workplace.
  • To complete delivery paperwork and log sheets.
  • Carry out vehicle checks in accordance with DVSA and company policy and compile necessary paperwork.

The person

  • Qualified to drive heavy good vehicles (Class 2 HGV).
  • ADR trained, carriage of dangerous goods.
  • Hold a good clean driver's licence.
  • Hold a Driver CPC.
  • Adhere to EU driver hours to include the use of analogue and digital tachographs.Have good eyesight and colour vision and reasonable level of fitness to load and unload vehicles, either contained within UN approved containers or loose.
  • The ability to work alone.
  • A Good understanding of health and safety, when loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Assist taking vehicles for service / repair.
  • Have a flexible approach to start and finish times.
