SHEQ Manager role at a leading Joinery and Carpentry sub-contractor, based in Essex, with a salary of £45K
Your new company
Our client is a large Construction Carpentry and Joinery sub-contractor, currently working with a number of major Principal Contractors on prestigious projects in the Residential and Commercial sectors. In order to expand the management team, they are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the Director and to the Board, you will be responsible for Health & Safety within the business. You will have the responsibility of H&S management system, and assisting site teams and the directors by implementing in all areas of the business. You will attend internal occupational Health and Safety meetings; and also weekly / monthly site H&S meetings with client PC and site managers; you will provide training and inductions.
On daily basis you will conduct formal risk assessments on all work tasks undertaken on sites, and develop further control measures where safety needs to be improved; maintain scheme memberships and accreditations - Chas, FSC, Fors, Achilles etc.
A key responsibility will be also the development of construction project RAMS, project documents, Quality plans, and managing the approval processes.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have previous experience in similar roles within the Construction industry working on high profile large projects. You will have NEBOSH Construction Certificate, ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, Tech IOSH or Grad IOSH memberships.
You will work on site as well as in office (Based in Essex), dealing with multiple projects, travelling around the London area the 50% of your time. You will be able to organise your workload and your diary/travels.
