Are you an experienced Health and Safety Advisor looking for a new opportunity? Do you have a manufacturing background?

You with be directly responsible for overseeing the Company's day to day adherence to H&S compliance and best practice whilst providing long term suggestions to improve the overall health & safety management processes.

This role works closely with colleagues across the business, ensuring that the Company's high standards of health and safety are adhered to. Ensuring that effective risk assessments are in place for all the site's activities, including SOPRA, COSHH, Manual Handling, Noise, DSE, and other statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

 To advise on the requirements of Health and Safety Legislation.
 To provide support and expert advice on all matters relating to health and safety.
 Ensuring Group systems for reporting and responding to accidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses are implemented and investigated thoroughly.
 Arranging inspection and testing of various facilities and Manufacturing equipment, e.g. LEV, lifting equipment and various Manufacturing machinery in accordance with insurance and statutory requirement
 Implementing testing arrangements for emergency response and fire systems
 Maintaining relevant KPIs and information on Health and Safety matters
 Providing appropriate training and communication to ensure that all employees, including new starters, are aware of their Health and Safety responsibilities and are competent to undertake them
 Liaising with internal management and Group Health & Safety.
 Carrying out internal audits and inspections
 Ensuring the contractor management process is adhered to.
 Advising on and co-ordinating the undertaking of risk assessments in compliance with specific health and safety legislation.
 Undertaking audits of Health & Safety systems & co-ordinating a programme of Departmental inspections; produce gap analysis and appraise management of risks. Develop, gain acceptance of and implement via line management a business H&S improvement strategy to address gap.
 Maintenance, review and revision, as required, of the Company's Health & Safety Policies and procedures.
 Produce reports and statistics to inform the Senior Management Team and Line Managers and all other staff of performance with respect to the management of Health & Safety in a timely way that enables them to understand and control the performance of the business.
 Review and produce an annual health and safety training plan for all employees.
 Co-ordinate the activities of and mentoring as required of the Health and Safety Representatives.
 To be the principal point of contact with enforcing officers from HSE, Local Authority, Fire Brigade, Environment Agency on matters of Health & Safety
 Liaise with Group Health and Safety manager on individual and group issues as required. Maintain and enhance personal and professional status, skills and knowledge at all times.
 Coordinate the purchasing of PPE and consumable tooling as required whilst tracking costs and distribution.

Key Skills

 Good analytical, numeracy and Problem Solving skills
 Excellent PC skills, computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
 Excellent communication and influencing skills
 Evidence of implementing behavioural and process change
 Ability to work using own imitative and confident to work under pressure

Knowledge and Experience

 Minimum 2 years' experience of H&S management in a manufacturing environment, ideally across multi site operations

Qualifications

 Minimum of a NEBOSH certificate
 Full clean driving licence
