Purpose of the Job:

The Head of Service Development will be responsible for the strategic development of current and future services and their delivery models.

The post holder will be the principal lead for existing and potential customers on new initiatives and services.

Responsible for identifying market trends and innovations and developing methodologies to enhance our service offer to our customers.

Dotted line responsibility for customer development functions of the operational management team.

Main Activities:

Responsible for the strategic planning of service development and improvements as follows: Develop new activities and events, ensuring that they give the correct financial return, and undertake research into up to date food service trends, cultural and life styles.

Ensure all operations are undertaken in accordance with company procedures and policies, all current service and operational related standards are met; and in compliance with all service related regulations and legislation. (e.g. Health & Safety, Hygiene Regulations, Food Safety and any others as introduced and relevant).

Manage and prioritise the work undertaken by operational teams, ensuring targets are set and performance management indicators achieved and recorded.

Lead on engagement with customers on issues of service delivery, opportunities for increasing income generation and liaise with customers to ensure the delivery of high quality customer needs led services that maximise on the value of the staff and business resources available.

Provide operational input into marketing and business development opportunities, drawing on their knowledge of our customers and the sectors in which we operate.

The post holder will be responsible for approximately 25 schools and 45 client locations and will be expected to develop and implement new service delivery models that will improve competitiveness, efficiency and effectiveness.

Ensure effective performance management through the development and achievement of performance indicators and sound budgetary management.

The post holder will have responsibility for the operation being properly staffed with appropriate capabilities and skills to deliver services to the required standard.
