Hours of work: 35/ week
·Lead and manage the Financial Markets function reporting to President, with a functional reporting line to the Financial Markets department at HO.
·Overall responsibility for trading for customers, market making and investment research, providing treasury services to manage the Branch’s liquidity position through access to the money markets and through use of any FX and Interest rates products as appropriate.
·To conduct and manage product trading and transactions within authorised trading and market risk limits.
·Joint responsibility with VP for settlement.
·To oversee, people manage and develop the team to achieve Bank targets and returns as set by the Head Office.
·Member of the ALCo, ARCo (specifically in attendance for risk related matters) and CCo committees.
·Ensure all systems and processes are fit for purpose and all risks are captured, reviewed and managed throughout
·Responsibility for the treasury / cash management department and FX and interest rate sub-department
·Primary responsibility for
- Sales and marketing
- Liquidity management
- Asset and liability management
- Trading in standardised SWAPs and Forwards/Futures as required by customers and internal hedging needs
- Offering lines of credit arrangements, in support of the Corporate Banking sub-department.
·Ensure certified staff are discharging their roles in accordance with the culture of the Branch as well as the conduct rules that they are bound by.
·Responsible for the appropriate delegation of tasks and activities to appropriately skilled and competent members of the department and ensuring effective oversight of this delegation as per the conduct rules.
·Conduct bonds investment and trading, Repo, inter-bank lending and interest- rate derivatives products transactions.
·Draft/Set credit limits and applications report.
·Analyse and forecast the trends of interests, bond market and any other relevant markets.
·Ensure that all the transactions are conducted in accordance with relevant regulations and internal policies and procedures.
·Deal and manage all FX requirements of customers.
·To look after the sale of Interest Rate Derivatives to customers of the bank who require Interest Rate hedging.
·Identify and capture new customers for both FX & Interest Rate hedging.
·To execute Repo transactions in the wholesale markets in line with policy.
·To keep abreast of all changes to regulations and be involved in all committees looking after the implementation of same within the Bank.
·To engage with and build strong relationships with potential counterparties.
·To continuously review Department procedures, policies, systems, development of processes and the implementation of the agreed changes.
·To complete regular performance reports and enable the management to get accurate reflection of treasury activities.
·5 years+ leading and managing a Financial Markets team.
·Strong organisational and planning skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
·Communication & interpersonal skills, strong leadership and management experience.
·An analytical mind with excellent problem-solving and mathematical ability.
·A proven leader with the ability to build and evolve high-performing teams. Adept at effectively influencing stakeholders at Executive level and being able to partner with IT and Business Architecture teams to drive strategy.
·Have in-depth knowledge in product areas such as FX bond, interest-rate and relevant products, and their markets and operations.
·Familiar with the different categories of derivatives in the local market
·Strong IT skills including MS Office and trading system operations
·Masters degree or above in Economics, Finance or Business Management
