Communicate H&S priorities within the Company, including the results of accident investigations; risk assessments and any other H&S related matter.
Take responsibility of ensuring the effectiveness of health and safety systems, provisions and education and to recommend improvements.
Ensure that the effectiveness of the health and safety management system is reviewed throughout the Company and recommendations for improvement made where necessary.
Monitor the effectiveness of health and safety standards, procedures and processes.
Carry out and monitor the effectiveness of accident / incident investigations and report on health and safety performance monthly.
Ensure adequate monitoring of the working environment through the provision of third party audit reports.
Ensure the safe operation of processes by establishing clear management systems and hazard review procedures.
Ensure that all accidents and near misses are investigated and appropriate actions taken to prevent reoccurrence.
Ensure that an advisory and information service is provided to management, employees and contractors on matters of health and safety.
Assist in the development of health and safety training, personnel development and educational resources for all areas as necessary.
Monitor the work of the occupational health consultants and advise management in the resolution of identified medical problems.
Record data in respect of injuries, accidents, incidents and near misses.
Ensure that statutory reporting of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences is undertaken.
Develop and implement measures, targets and objectives to ensure the health and safety of all employees, visitors and contractors.
To keep under review all the above measures, targets and objectives considering changing circumstances, processes and personnel.
Ensure that comprehensive risk assessments are produced in a timely manner for all work activities and that all necessary actions identified as part of this process are completed.
Ensure that any matters affecting health & safety, including training and the introduction of new plant, equipment and systems are discussed prior to implementation.
