General Catering Manager

We have a great opportunity for a  General Catering  Manager who will take full responsibility for one of our high profile Independent boarding schools, The Godolphin School, Salisbury, Wiltshire,   working closely to standards across all with our clients and driving the business forward.  You will ensure the catering, events and cleaning for  both commercial and hospitality services are managed to the highest standards. The business is a great mix of hospitality, catering and events and you will develop and manage a motivated team, ensuring appropriate skills to ensure budget targets are achieved. Working with a fixed team of 40 with the assistance of a housekeeping manager, deputy manager and head chef. You will be an excellent leader, able to communicate at all levels and have a strong financial background.

Package description

£35000 to £40000 depending on experience

Mainly Mon - Fri between 7am to 8pm, 40 hours per week, needs to be flexible to work weekends and evenings on the odd occasion

Main responsibilities
  • Managing client and contractual relationships in a commercial manner ensuring compliance and company policies are adhered to
  • Will mainly be overseeing the catering and hospitality side of the business
  • Driving the service and support to exceed our client's and our customers' expectations
  • Planning and implementing plans to achieve strategic growth of the operation and overall contract delivery
  • Coaching, developing and leading a team to provide exceptional service to the clients
  • Driving service excellence thereby exceeding customer expectations/requirements and enhancing the customer journey
  • Deliver the profit for the business through leading and supporting your team in delivery of their financial targets
  • Demonstrate an in depth knowledge of Food & beverage, operating with focus on innovation, standards and market awareness
Ideal candidate
  • Strategic Management experience within a similar role
  • The ability to build and lead an effective team
  • Must be very hands on
  • Standards and quality driven management style
  • Results orientated and motivated to achieve measurable results
  • Sound knowledge of Hygiene, Health and Safety
  • Have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
