Our client based in Middlesbrough is looking for an experienced fleet operations manager to join their team. This is an ongoing contract for increase in workload within the company.

  • Ensuring that Road transport law, including construction and use regulations, operators licence, roadworthiness, speed limits, loading and overloading, drivers hours and records, vehicle testing and plating, is adhered.
  • To support the Head of Service in the provision of effective service delivery.
  • Ensure effective management of resources available within budget and timetable.
  • Be accountable for all fleet management processes including a number of IT systems such as Tranman and Merrydale.
  • Be accountable for all aspects of purchasing and income generation and ensure efficient processing
  • Management of all aspects of the vehicles are being used legally and appropriately including vehicle and fuel usage, vehicle damage, completion of driver’s logbooks and daily check sheets, driving licences, drivers hours, etc reporting any anomalies to Service Managers.
  • Ensuring that all managers are kept up to date with all new legislation
  • Assist with budget setting and monitoring processes.
  • Deputise for the Head of Service for all Operator Licence requirements and responsibilities as and when required.
  • Ensure the development of employees identifying personal development/training plans for employee and implement identified outcomes of this.
  • To work closely with other departments.
  • Assist in process of review and change as appropriate.
  • To analyse Service Delivery and implement improvements
