Your new role
To assist the Finance Manager in preparation of monthly financial reporting
To produce the monthly balance sheet and cash flow actual and forecast reports within the reporting deadlines for review by Finance Manager.
To produce timely, accurate and complete financial information for the purposes of the annual budget process ("PLAN").
To prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis and to ensure that any outstanding items are cleared in an accurate and timely manner.
To continually review and improve internal VAT controls and produce monthly UK and Irish Vat returns in accurate and timely manner
To manage the completion of the EC Sales Lists and Intrastat on a monthly basis, ensuring the accuracy of all submissions
To manage the BACs payment software and be the first point of contact for the Bank.
To prepare and report on the Daily and Monthly Cash 'Liquidity' forecasts.
To ensure authorisation matrix is updated in line with organisational changes and to ensure those changes are reflected in relevant systems (eSR , VIP)
To co-ordinate and manage the audit of duty calculations and reporting in line with HMRC requirements.
To perform stock audits at various third party and company locations, ensuring accuracy of GL accounts.
To become a SAP FI Key user, to provide ongoing support, champion and guidance to the rest of the company.
To oversee the robustness of the stock purchase process to ensure the accuracy of the Balance Sheet in accordance to the 8th EU Directive. Oversee and manage all GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) control testing reporting
Coordinate and prepare all PSA (PAYE Settlement Agreement) detail
To continually review, update and test controls to ensure relevance and robustness
To support on any adhoc projects and tasks as required by the Finance Manager
To provide cover for team members in times of absence with relation to manual payments made via online banking system and all BACS payment runs according to the BACS authorisation procedure.
What you'll need to succeed
An qualified accountant with advanced accounting knowledge
Experience in an accounting environment dealing with balance sheet and cashflow preparation and forecasting
Good knowledge of IFRS
Efficient in Microsoft office and lotus notes
Excel skills to macro level
Experience with SAP
Has worked within a goods environment which deals with physical stock
Has experience with Intrastat and EC sales reporting
VAT returns experience highly desirable
HMRC duty experience
Proven knowledge of SAP R3
EC Sales List
