MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Full control of all housing assets including production of the year-end property asset note in the annual financial statements. This includes break down of housing units into components and accurately calculating depreciation.
 Track property movements during the year including new, sold, demolished units and tenancy type converted units, reconciling property numbers to the RSR (regulatory statistical return).
 To process all journals resulting from property sales including shared ownership 1st tranche sales. This includes tracking shared ownership stock and monthly/annual WIP values.
 Arrange for property stock valuations as required, gathering required data into a reconciled schedule for Valuers.
 Responsible for preparing annual rent budgets, allocating proposed rent increase to individual properties.
 Responsible for all accounting functions of two subsidiaries and as one joint venture.
 Assist the Senior Financial Accountant and Head of Finance and Treasury with analysis and reconciling variance between budget and actuals.
 Calculate capitalised interest on development schemes monthly.
 Administrator and user of the NatWest Bank Line online banking system, assisting with the Business Plan as required.
 To take on other duties commensurate with this post as directed/delegated by the Head of Treasury and Finance.
Relationships
 No direct supervisory responsibility.
 Deal with a variety of internal stakeholders: Senior Management Team, Executive Team, Development Department, Asset Management.
 Deals with a variety of external stakeholders: auditors, valuers.

Assist with the treasury function including control and reporting of housing assets, short term cash flow and administration of loans. Report and budget for subsidiaries including year-end audited accounts producing the property fixed asset note for year-end.
Financial Accountability
No direct budget responsibility
Other financial responsibilities:
 Valuation of properties annually – circa £450m.
 Annual rent budget – circa £37m.
 Annual property sales – circa £7m.
Person Specification
Essential Desirable
Education
 Experienced part-qualified accountant continuing with studies or evidence of continued professional development.
Experience
 Good accounting experience working in a medium to large organisation.
 Experience of extracting information from substantial amounts of data.
 Experience of dealing with non-finance stakeholders.

 Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Word Excel).

 Good communicator both verbal and in writing.
