My client is looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join their busy team and rapidly growing Group.

This role would suit a recently qualified or part qualified Finance Manager who has a couple of years experience behind them and is hungry to grow and develop with an expanding company.

Role Purpose

  • Manage the Finance functions of all Group entities, ensure adequate financial control and prepare monthly management accounts

  • Execute the duties, responsibilities and obligations of a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and support the management team by the provision of management information outside of the monthly accounts

  • Manage and lead business functions including: Finance, ICT, Legal, Insurance, Infrastructure & Premises

    Key Responsibility - Finance

    • Ensure Sales, Cost of Sales and Gross Margins are accurate and reflect accounting principles such as matching concept; particularly for deferred income

    • Prepare the Gross Margin reports in the monthly management accounts pack. Investigate and report on margins which fall outside expected levels

    • Review nominal accounts, including bank, prepayments, accruals, deferred income, payroll, pensions and depreciation and prepare & post monthly journals as required

    • Prepare monthly revenue forecasts

    • Reforecast to year end and investigate monthly variances to budget

    • Prepare the monthly management pack for SMT and Board members; including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Forecasts and Key Performance Indicators

    • Prepare monthly gross margin reports

    • Improve the quality of the management reporting information provided to the SMT/Board to facilitate informed business decision making

    • You

      • Qualified/Part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA)

      • Knowledge of SAP Business One or similar SQL-based database and reporting is essential

      • Advanced Excel knowledge including pivot tables and external data links is essential

      • Ability to manage and prioritise a range of tasks to meet time deadlines

      • Excellent computer skills and at least 5 years’ experience using Microsoft Office on a day-to-day basis and similar experience of working with accounting software

      • Experience in leading others

      • An eye for detail

      • Excellent self-organisational ability
