Finance Manager

A film production agency are on the lookout to add a Finance Manager to their family.

A fantastic opportunity to grow and develop your career, working for an industry leading Film production agency based in London's Covent Garden.

Reporting directly in to the company chairman, this position is very much an Apprentice Financial Controller role where you will be working closely with representatives across all functions of the business managing a team of 5 in finance.

This role is will be split over two UK offices, the head office in Covent Garden and a second site based in a beautiful stately home in Leighton Buzzard (Hertfordshire).

Duties

-Ensuring that accounts are effectively managed and controlled by further development of the centralised accounting system.
-Liaising with all other parts of the business on any matter that requires financial management input.
-Acting as the main point of contact to external auditors and providing all required information.
-Ensuring accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards and that group policies are followed.
-Ensuring all transactions are totally appropriate within current tax legislation and fiscal
requirements.
-Recommending changes that will improve the company's financial performance and financial controls through discussion and evaluation.

Experience Needed

-Firm grasp of business and finance basics- Solid Double entry bookkeeping experience
-Experience of managing staff within a team.
-Excellent Excel modelling skills.
-Knowledge of Sage 50/200 helpful.
-Experience/knowledge of job costing systems appreciated.

Skills

-Good communication skills.
-Proven team player with management skills and potential leadership skills including the ability to coach and energise others.
-Interpersonal skills sufficient to support, advise and influence managers from different parts of the business whilst providing strong financial control where necessary.
-Strong IT literacy, Microsoft Excel in particular.
-Knowledge of Sage 50/200 Accounts systems.
-Critical thinking and good analytical skills.
-Hands-on approach and proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
-Appreciation of familial management approach, fun and enjoyment – Essential
