Location - East London
Term - Temp contract Full time
Duration- 4 months with possible extension
Salary - £30 - £36 per hour (Depending on candidate experience & payment method)

We are looking for an experienced Finance manager for a role in East London.  Must have experience of working within a healthcare setting. 

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, the Finance Manager role is responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day divisional finance support for one of the Trusts’ Operational Divisions, together with providing management information and reports on a broad range of financial and administrative issues. Working closely with the Corporate Finance function, you will ensure that robust processes and controls exist within your area to manage financial risk, provide accurate and timely reporting, and drive the development of improved systems and processes.
You will provide expert, specialist and in-depth financial advice and support to the Operational Division, Director of Finance, Deputy Director of Finance and senior Operational and Clinical managers in provision of financial services to the Trust whilst ensuring financial probity and compliance with Standing Financial Instructions, Standing Orders and other policies of the Trust at all time. This will involve the expert analysis of highly complex financial information, and the ability to concisely communicate to non-financial stakeholders the output of financial analysis to assist in financial decision making. You will also update policies and processes as necessary, and be expected in helping to shape future service developments and drive process improvements. You will be required to contribute specialist technical accounting and business knowledge, strong analytical skills, and communicate complex finance issues to non-finance colleagues, whilst operating autonomously.
The post will also play a key leadership role in leading the annual business planning round, providing high quality costing, budgetary and activity management information. The postholder will also play a significant role in drawing up the strategic plan for your division, and will articulate the cost improvement plan requirement for the division, and lead the process of cost improvement plan formulation and monitoring. It is noted that this process is of a highly complex nature and will require professional judgement and independent working.
This is a senior role where the post-holder spends the majority of their time within a division providing local front line support. The post-holder will have strong links to the Finance Department, where more specialist support will be provided in the areas of capital accounting, treasury management, and costing and pricing.

h- Professional accountancy qualification (recognised by CCAB)
h- Evidence of continuing professional development
h- Masters Degree
h- Expert use of MS office, and in particular Excel
h- Expert knowledge of Management Accounts function – covering month-end reporting, and forecasting, as well as both operational planning and strategic planning through the Annual Planning and 
   - Budgeting process
h- Specialist/expert knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, NHS finance policies; QIPP/CIP; SLR; experience and expertise in financial accounting and disciplines relevant to commercial finance function
h- Understanding of NHS Income and proven ability to analyse variances

h Divisional multi-disciplinary board working.
h Management of a large and complex budget setting and reporting processes.
h Significant experience of working with senior management particularly General Managers, Executive Directors and Clinical Directors
h Experience of managing and monitoring SLAs
h Proven track record of achievement.
h Experience of managing budgets, developing business plans and producing business cases in a large complex organisation
h Experienced in the analysis of performance datah Extensive experience of accounting standards
h Extensive understanding of complex financial techniques used to support decision making
h Understanding of NHS financial regime
h Strong computer literacy with particular regard to Microsoft Office applications
h Thorough understanding of NHS targetsh Flexible approach to work
h Strongly proactive and solution orientated
h Qualities of perseverance, flexibility, determination and adaptability
h Team worker able to collaborate and delegate
h Ability to prioritise and work with imposed deadlines
h Excellent communication skills, both written and oral to non-financial managers as well as to Finance colleagues. This will enable the postholder to influence colleagues within Finance and also in Clinical Divisions to change behaviours and facilitate change
