Female Senior Support Worker
Have you got the drive and determination to succeed in the role of Senior Support Worker, resourceful and energetic to work alongside the senior team in achieving our aims with the day to day management responsibilities of our complex supported living service in the Jarrow area of Tyneside?
The scheme of 13 flats and 2 bungalows is home to 15 people with mental health and learning difficulties. The main block of 13 flats is spread over 3 floors and there is lift access. Each flat has an en suite bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities. The scheme is set within a large walled garden. The Communal areas in the main building include a main entrance/seating area, lounge and tea making facilities.
You will have the opportunity to work with our positive behaviour support practitioner team in order that we continue to deliver innovative and specialised services. You will encourage staff to take responsibility for upholding positive workplace values and building great working relationships.

You will develop and coordinate a flexible and high quality service for adults with learning disabilities/complex needs and behaviours that may challenge.
You will supervise and manage a team of staff, providing person centred support to enable service users to maintain their independence, experience improved wellbeing and enjoy opportunities for personal development.
You must have skills in positive communication and engagement and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support. You will also have skills in the assessment of needs along with positive and proactive risk management so that support planning for individuals demonstrates an active and fulfilling life with an emphasis on a 'can do’ approach.
As well as providing direct support you will manage and deploy staff effectively to meet the needs of service users, taking into account their personalised schedules and activity plans. You must be professional and able to act as a role model, leading your team by example.
