Are you a newly qualified social worker or are you a family support worker looking for a new opportunity to use your skills working with babies, young people and their families? The Orchards Residential Family Centre offers residential parenting assessments for parent(s) and children, where there is social care involvement, typically in care proceedings.

We offer structured observations of parenting capacity, key work sessions, parenting programmes, domestic abuse support programmes anger management, and substance misuse programmes alongside the assessment programme. We also assess parents of varying needs including learning disabilities, mental health and substance misuse.

We are looking for Family Assessment Workers who are skilled in or willing to learn skills in structured observations, key working and committed to working creatively to support parents in developing their parenting skills. You will work closely with and guided by the Lead Assessor in undertaking your role as Family Assessment Worker. The candidate must be able to write high quality and evidence based daily logs and reports. The candidate must be computer literate. The candidate must have or be working towards a level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Childcare or relevant qualifications for working with children and families.
