8am - 4pm / 9am - 5pm (Main Shift) / 10am - 6pm

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Export clerk to join a Liverpool based Shipping company. The role will provide support to the shipping department in areas such as logistics, customs entries and customer service. We are looking for candidates with experience working within a shipping organisation who is interested in developing their skills and progressing within a well-established organisation.

You will provide a high standard of accuracy with bookings to our customers. To offer the customer high level of communication at all times and ensure we are offering them a quality service. To lead and drive improvements in relation to quality and productivity within the team and meet set KPI’s.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Liaise with customers and coordinate domestic and international shipping of their material
Track all shipments and keep customers updated of ETA to end port destinations
•Enter material information onto internal database
•Manage stock for customers, keeping track of rental dates and organising haulage to deliver material to customers end destination
•To support data collection requests and monthly reporting requirements from the accounts team
•Trouble shoot any issues and communicate accordingly with internal or external customers via email enquiries or general telephone
•Enter customs entries on an E-customs system
•Handle original documentation, such as Bill of Ladings, commercial invoices and packing lists
•Ensure compliant export and import documentation and maintain records for audit purposes
•Keep up to date with EU regulations and importing laws
•All Booking/Documentation details to be updated onto Docushare and utilised for filing purposes
•Ensure customers are notified of all respective charges and invoices are raised in an accurate and timely manner. CIRA system is utilised as an internal system to ensure all charges are raised
Queries to be completed on a daily basis and invoice user error to be within KPI
•Revert to customers with information which relate to their booking request and action accordingly with the required documentation
•Strong relationship with transport / sales / accounts department
•Identify and attend off site meetings when required with customers / suppliers
•To be able to deal with customer complaints professionally with a preferable outcome to both parties
•Implementing SOP’s are effective for the necessary customers and review monthly
•Liaise closely with Sales, clarifying and correcting any SQ issues. Checking the Exceptions DB for all invoices/charges raised
•Produce relevant reports for Management team where applicable
•Review process and procedures within the Exports department and suggest ideas/improvements for the organisation
•Vessel Call Closure / Completion
•Monitoring and supporting our SSC colleagues to meet specific KPI’s and targets
•All queries are to be looked at on day 1 for resolution by day 5 (Export queries less than 5%)
•Queries User Error is to be lower than 15% for Export Department
•All re-queries are to be discussed with your Team Leader prior to closing (within the Export KPI of 5%)
•All Invoices/Credit Notes to be sent by Neopost and user error to be lower than 2%
•Whiteboard is to be sold by the Customer Services team to all new customers and ensure we are sending relevant updates through this tool
•CIRA TAT to be completed and updated within 24 Hours
•Bookings turnaround time aim is within 4 hours of receipt of email

•Although experience of working within an import/export/logistics background would be an advantage, it is not essential as training will be provided
•Excellent attention to detail
Good customer service skills and the ability to problem solve
•An excellent level of numeracy
•Ability to work autonomously
•Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.
•Experience working on UK import and export Licences
•Experience of customs procedures
