Join Safestore as an Environmental Reporting Intern this Summer!

This internship will run from 03/06/2024-30/08/2024.

This 3-month Summer Internship is a hybrid role, based in our Head Office in Borehamwood, which will, on occasion, require you to travel to some of our additional sites.

The salary for this position is £25,100 (pro rata).

We are currently recruiting for a second year university student to join our team, to analyse, report and produce actionable points for how Safestore can continue to commit to our climate-based goals, and ultimately, reduce our carbon emissions. We are looking for someone who can support and enable the development of a group wide framework to deliver accurate and on-time data collection and analysis.

Our ideal candidate would also have a keen interest and knowledge in the environment, CSR, data analysis, problem solving and commercial real estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Collection - Work with internal stakeholders to capture consumption and usage figures.
  • Data Validation - High level analysis and comparison of trends such as Like for Like
  • Data Reporting - Work with external partners to support right first-time data submissions.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Finished your second year at university in a relevant quantitative subject such as Geography, Economics,Environment Science/Sustainability, on track for a 2.1 or above.
  • Strong proficiency and experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Some understanding of sustainability terminology and legislation.
  • Knowledgeable on environmental factors such as emissions, electricity, and gas.
  • Ability to work independently when collating data, with strong communication skills to feedback your findings to our team and our stakeholders.
