Nacro's Education centre in Barrow, is seeking an individual to work within education projects, which will involve delivering the employability sessions to 16-19 year olds on its Study Programme course. We will be specifically looking to develop individual skills towards team building, communication skills and working on building projects within the community, with a focus on Health and Safety and training towards CSCS card.
This is a Fixed-term post initially for 8 months working 22 hours per week. The working hours will be Monday 9-4:30, Tuesday 9 - 4:30 and Wednesday 9-4.
Nacro run a range of Education Services and are looking for an experienced and qualified tutor to work with young people on a group and one-to-one basis. The courses offer vocational qualifications alongside helping students improve their literacy and numeracy, as well as developing individually tailored plans for learners around employability, CV writing, personal social development and work experience opportunities.
The successful candidate should have experience in guiding a diverse group of clients through the requirements of an awarding body such as City & Guilds and NOCN. As well as the ability to identify preferred learning styles and engage difficult-to-reach young people.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Vocational experience and/or qualified teaching qualification
- A Level 4 teaching qualification (Certificate in Education & Training, CTLLS or equivalent) or a Level 5 teaching qualification (Diploma in Education & Training, DTLLS, Cert Ed or equivalent)
- GCSE English, maths and ICT (or equivalent qualifications at Level 2 or above)
Salary for this role will be dependent on qualifications held.
A DBS check will be required for this role
