Electrical & Instrumentation Trainer/Assessor, £31959 plus 25 days holiday

We are advertising an opportunity for an Electrical and Instrumentation Trainer to join a well known, reputable training provider based in Carlisle. Our client is offering an excellent Salary of up to £31959 pa, excellent training and benefits including 25 days holiday - plus bank holidays, a 5 % contributory pension scheme and free parking. They will also pay for and support you through any teaching qualifications you need to complete to become a trainer/assessor in your field!

The client is an Ofsted Outstanding Grade 1 training organisation set up by 5 large business in the area in Cumbria. They deliver high quality training for individuals and employers via apprenticeships and private training courses. They focus on engineering, manufacturing and energy.

We are looking for candidates who have;

  • A minimum of three years experience in industry in Electrical & Instrumentation.
  • Hold a level three qualification in Electrical & Instrumentation and have completed a full level 3 apprenticeship
  • Competent in domestic or industrial installation & maintenance,
  • Hold a 17th Edition

    What the role involves

    The position is a hands on full time training position where you will train and assess learners who are engaged on the E&I Engineering courses up to level 3. You will develop and update course material to ensure that you lessons are engaging and in line with the curriculum as was as documenting learning for each learner via individual learner logs. You will be responsible for your own cohort of learners which includes learning quality and pastoral care and support. You will need to be able to give balanced feedback to learners and offer 1-2-1 as well as group support. Due to the nature of the role there is a range of associated paper work which must be administered and managed on a daily basis. You therefore must be computer literate.

    Desirable - (although training and support will be given to achieve these)

  • Knowledge and experience on plant and process control systems would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Hold an assessor qualification or be willing to work towards attaining
  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards attaining
  • Has experience of delivering and developing Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering courses
  • An understanding of the Advanced Apprenticeship Framework and the funding process
  • Knowledge of alternative teaching/learning options
  • An intermediate level of understanding of MS office applications
  • Has experience of Training Needs Analysis and Programme Design
