We are recruiting for a Distribution Centre Operations Manager for our client who are a leading FTSE 250 PLC.

Our client is the specialist in selling and distributing spare parts from all major boiler manufacturers, Alpha, Baxi, Glow Worm, Ideal, Potterton, Vaillant, Vokera and Worcester.

You will manage the Spares Distribution Centre which is a critical facility in support of the Spares business, ensuring all KPIs are met, through efficient stock control, strong cost awareness and good people management of the warehousing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficient management of warehouse teams to ensure efficient receipt, storage and delivery of all products to thebranch network and external customers
  • Guidance of stock control team to ensure to maximise stock turn over without affecting service levels.
  • Complete stocktake on a rolling basis plus two full stocktakes a year
  • Minimise stock losses through enforcing best practise, reviews and efficient security practises
  • Working with the Spares Director on continuous improvement of service
  • Working with the local sales team to ensure delivery of superb service from the sales office
  • Having strong relationships with our clients external service providers
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
  • Drive excellence of service through innovation and ownership
  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
  • Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
  • Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
  • Recruit, select, coach and motivate employees
  • Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc)
  • Investigate new opportunities to enhance the service or to grow the business
  • Responsible for ensuring that all warehouse processes run smoothly
  • Processing, resolving and responding to any branch or customer issues
  • Work closely with the Spares director and Category managers on efficiently delivering sales initiatives
  • Support the Spares Director to help service contracts for large commercial, Local Authority and partnering business opportunities


  • The successful candidate will have similar experience within Distribution Centre Operation Management
  • Warehouse and Distribution experience
  • Great management skills
  • Relationship building with service suppliers
  • Live within a commutable distance to Fairford
