DevOps Engineer (Defence)
UK Wide - London, Manchester, Leeds, Gloucester (Hybrid)
£45,000 - £60,000 + package
Working with a leading cyber and defence organisation delivering secure, cloud-native platforms across national security and government environments. They're looking for DevOps Engineers to build, automate and scale critical infrastructure supporting high-impact programmes.
The Role
You'll be responsible for engineering and automating cloud infrastructure, enabling fast, secure and reliable delivery across complex environments.
Key responsibilities:
Design, build and manage cloud infrastructure across Azure or GCP
Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery
Support containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
Develop automation scripts (Python, Bash, Shell)
Work within cross-functional DevOps / SRE teams to improve system reliability and scalability
Apply DevOps best practices across monitoring, logging and deployment
What they're looking for
2+ years experience in DevOps / Platform Engineering
Hands-on with: Azure or GCP, Terraform (or similar IaC tools) and CI/CD tooling
Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
Scripting experience (Python, Bash or similar)
Solid understanding of Linux, networking and cloud architecture
Experience working in Agile environments
Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
