Vacancy: DevOps Engineer (Hybrid)

Location: Netherlands

Duration: 6 months with possible extension

Pay: DOE

Our client is a fast-growing organisation within the energy sector who are looking for DevOps Engineer to join their team. We welcome applications from UK-based candidates who have the appropriate right-to-work documentation in place.

Responsibilities for the DevOps Engineer role include:

  • As a mid-level Kotlin developer, you'll work on applications that form the backbone of the Dutch energy market.
  • You'll develop microservices and backend components that enable data exchange between grid operators and market participants.
  • You'll work in a multidisciplinary team with DevOps engineers, testers, and business analysts.
  • Develop and maintain Kotlin-based backend applications
  • Work with modern tools such as Spring Boot, Kafka, Docker, and AWS
  • Contribute ideas on architecture and technical solutions
  • Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Write unit and integration tests
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation
  • Working on socially relevant software

For candidates applying for the DevOps Engineer role you will need:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a backend developer
  • Experience with Kotlin (or Java with a strong willingness to switch)
  • Knowledge of Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, and CI/CD
  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Proactive attitude and good communication skills
  • Experience working in complex system chains is a plus
  • Bonus: knowledge of SOAP and integrating with legacy systems
