What is a development manager?
FirstPort is one of the largest and most experienced property managers in the UK, employing more than 3,300 people, of which 2,500 work at the 3,700 developments we manage.

Development managers are at heart of the development, making sure everything is running smoothly and that the building is safe and well maintained. You’ll be looking after people’s homes, so creating a sense of community and engaging with the customer is a key focus.

What does a development manager do?
As a development manager you not only have set routines but your day to day activities can be as varied as our customers, you will be need to be able to adapt to changing priorities and have excellent prioritisation and time management skills.

Health and safety is of paramount importance to us and will be a focal part of this role  for example a development manager would be regularly checking for risks and hazards around the sites and taking all necessary action as well as working with the contractors and suppliers for works that need to be competed.

You will be part of a team, working alongside a regional peer group of other development managers, reporting into an area manager, there will be regular team hub meetings at different locations so travel will be required.

Running a development you will have to be exceptionally organised to stay on top of all the admin that comes with alongside communicating with the customers about upcoming changes, events or works.
