Salary – Up to £50,000 DOE

We are looking for a Regional Depot Manager to play a key role in expanding our home delivery network in line with our strategic plan. This is a new and exciting opportunity within our home delivery department, 'Driven Logistics,' part of the Buy It Direct Group. As the North & Midlands Regional Depot Manager, you will report to our Logistics Director and oversee the day-to-day operations of the depots based in Castle Donington and Huddersfield. This hands-on role drives depot efficiency and ensures on-time in full deliveries to enhance customer experience. Additionally, you'll lead your team towards success, advocating for continuous improvement to meet depot KPIs and goals. This role demands flexibility as it involves managing a 24-hour operation focusing on performance and compliance.

Two depot supervisors and three driver trainers will report directly to you over and above the delivery crews. This position offers the opportunity to significantly impact customer service and staff engagement within the depots, with room for career advancement as part of our expansion plans.

The Role:
  • Improve on-time delivery performance and investigate reasons for damage or loss, implementing improvement initiatives.
  • Utilise customer satisfaction tools to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Create a supportive and engaging work environment for depot team members.
  • Identify and implement efficiency opportunities and network improvements.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair to maintain a clean and tidy fleet.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and retention efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with HR on personnel matters and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Provide holiday cover for the Southern Regional General Manager and support business change initiatives.
