Data Engineering Lead - Team Management - Azure - £70K - Manchester 2x Per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced Data Engineering Lead to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the strategy for Data Engineering, overseeing activities required in the delivery and maintenance of quality data to support the Data & Analytics team. This includes the development, operation, and maintenance of data pipelines to extract, load and transform data sources from both internal and external providers.

What you'll do:

As a Data Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the data landscape. You will be at the forefront of developing, operating, and maintaining data pipelines that extract, load, and transform data from various sources. Your expertise will drive standardisation and efficiency within the Data Engineering processes. You will work closely with other Heads of Data and Analytics to understand their needs, prioritising tasks accordingly. This role will also involve providing consultancy to business Data Analyst teams on complex issues related to onboarding new data sources and building new Data Products.

• Responsible for the development, operation and maintenance of data pipelines to extract, load and transform data sources from both internal and external providers.
• Work with IT Architecture to establish standard technology patterns and frameworks for data ingestion and transformation.
• Drive standardisation, simplification and efficiency of the Data Engineering processes.
• Manage a team of 3 Data Engineers providing leadership, coaching and mentoring.
• Provide consultancy to business Data Analyst teams regarding the complexity and feasibility of onboarding new data sources and building new Data Products.

What you'll bring:

Proven experience in leading, prioritising, implementing, and managing Data Engineering activities across multiple data products and pipelines.
Strong Experience with Azure, with a focus on Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory and Power BI .
Experience with SQL and Python, ideally as implemented on Databricks.
Strong Stakeholder & Team management experience

The business require the Data Engineering Lead to be in the office 2x Per week (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
