A great opportunity for a Conveyancing Assistant to join a well- established commercial and private client law legal 500 firm in Harrogate. You will be assisting a fee earner with property legal duties including and closing the files.

About the role

  • liaising with clients by phone, email, letter etc
  • where you will be required to identify issues / matters relating to their files and receiving instructions.
  • The role includes liaising with estate agents, mortgage brokers, other solicitors, HM Land Registry and others as appropriate to the particular matters.
  • You will be required to create and prepare letters and correspondence through the case management system including legal documents such as contracts, deeds and legal charges, and identify complicated title issues that require the attention of senior member of the team.
  • It expected that you will be able to produce client bills at completion or when appropriate and prepare financial statements reports for use by fee earner and clients.

About you

  • 6 month minimum conveyancing experience
  • Law degree, Cilex qualification is highly desirable, however a strong work history as a conveyancing assistant will be considered in absence of legal qualifications
  • positive outlook and be a team player with the ability to use initiative.
  • motivated, flexible and preferably assisting with legal issues.
  • confidence and ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels, both in writing and verbally.
  • Previous experience within a Law Firm is preferential
  • It would be an advantage if you have experience of identifying and developing marketing opportunities.
