Contracts Manager

We are looking for a Contracts Manager to work in a government organisation in London for 6 months with possible extension.

Your New Role

• Actively contributing to the management of the supply chain portfolio, including the development and implementation of supply chain and supplier relationship strategies
• Acting as commercial lead, managing one or more contracts, ensuring effective stakeholder management, governance, performance management frameworks, escalation, risk management, issues resolution, financial management, change control and compliance
• Developing and maintaining positive commercial relationships with the supply chain to maintain and enhance performance, improve service delivery and create additional value
• Collate and verify commercial KPIs covering supplier performance, spend, contract compliance, VFM, risks and opportunities and gather it for reporting at governance level
• Ensure the control and delivery of all spend through compliant contracts and make available through catalogues (or as otherwise appropriate) online
• Help drive innovation in contracts to de monstrate continuous improvement. Continually analyse contracts in order to develop and drive value adding initiatives
• On an ongoing basis, track operation demand and patterns and introduce demand management mechanisms where applicable
• Manage legal compliance and risk mitigation of contracts
• Work with, and support, other commercial contract managers to ensure clarity, resilience and consistency across the team, wider eco-system and supply chain portfolio
• Support the management and administration of other contracts/categories as required

Experience Required:

• Commercially astute
• Have a good understanding of Contract Law and applied working knowledge of interpreting, managing and enforcing complex service agreements/contracts/frameworks
• Proven track record and detailed understanding of contract management processes, performance management regimes and incentivisation mechanisms
• Experience in the implementation of Supplier Relationship Management strategies
• Experience of negotiating and managing large complex contracts, engaging with lawyers and other advisors as required
• Experience of commercial management and delivery
• Experience of developing, delivering and implementing contract management plans
• Have a good understanding of procurement including Public Contract Regulations and standard sourcing methodologies
• Exhibits ability to effectively communicate and report (verbal and written)
• Able to interact and effectively influence stakeholders, building collaborativ e relationships where appropriate. 
• Has good leadership skills and the ability to work effectively as a team
• Demonstrate an ability to engage by listening & communicating succinctly and clearly using appropriate methods to suit all audiences to maximise understanding and impact
