Compressed Air Service Engineer – permanent full time role
My Client were formed in the late 1970's as a compressed air business selling air compressors with aftersales support, servicing, pipework systems and ancillary equipment. They have been associated with Atlas Copco products. The focus was totally on compressed air until reently when they diversified railway equipment and systems including the design, supply and installation of carriage washing machines, fuelling systems, CET systems complimented by service and a reactive maintenance contract with Network Rail and train operating companies.
The compressed air business has always been a valued part of their portfolio and we are looking for a qualified air compressor service engineer to join the team.
As a service engineer you will be expected to:
- Carry out planned routine maintenance on a variety of compressor and compressed air systems, including replacement filter kits and oil changes - - Carry out planned work identified at previous services Report back to management on additional works required either Suggest improvements to the customer’s system
- The position of Compressed Air Service Engineer requires the successful candidate to have had recent experience with air compressors, air dryers, filtration, and pipework systems with a good knowledge of Atlas Copco equipment.
-The candidate will have been involved in the compressed air industry for a minimum of 2 years, have good communication and motivational skills, be prepared to travel fairly locally to customers sites and work in a safe manner.
The role will be based on a 37.5 hour working week, primarily Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30 with some on call cover (approx. 1 week in 10).
There are opportunities for some overtime dependent on work load and customer requirements.
Good mechanical/engineering skills with basic electrical skills
Good product knowledge of Atlas Copco machines (minimum)
Experience of Compair, Hydrovane, HPC and Ingersoll Rand machines would be an advantage
Good communication skills both verbally and written
Good knowledge of Health & Safety
Fault finding skills advantageous
£22k - £27,500 (dependent on experience)
