Commercial Banking - REF Credit Underwriter

As the Commercial Banking - REF Credit Underwriter - Birminghamyou will work for a challenger bank with a great proposition aimed at the Commercial/Corporate Real Estate Finance banking space. With the bank’s definite appetite to lend you will assess and authorise deals for new and existing businesses in line with your delegated authority, working closely with stakeholders.

As the Commercial Banking - REF Credit Underwriter - Birmingham your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Assess, authorise and monitor lending within delegated discretion, as outlined in the Bank’s Commercial Credit Risk Policy and procedures.
  • Assess and monitor lending propositions outside own lending discretion, and present recommendations to the CRO and/or Audit and Board Risk.

Essential Skills and Competencies of the Commercial Banking - REF Credit Underwriter - Birmingham:

  • Credit and Risk decision making, experience and knowledge - must have held a lending authority

As the Commercial Banking - REF Credit Underwriter - Birmingham:

  • ACIB qualified with knowledge of Commercial and Corporate Real Estate Finance.

  • Strong track record in credit decision making.

  • Sound credit judgement and experience of holding a discretionary lending authorities.

  • Ability to make robust and difficult lending decisions including knowing when to decline lending proposals.
