We're proud to be representing an independent and thriving firm of accountants in Manchester, supporting them to find a talented and motivated Client Manager to join their close-knit team. If you're looking to make a big difference at a small but mighty firm that serves a loyal client portfolio, this well remunerated role could be for you.

This role will suit an ambitious accountant, qualified toACA, ACCA or CA level (or qualified by experience), with first class time management, organisational skills, and management experience. You will be a leader, so you’ll need a can-do attitude and the ability to delegate and to act with autonomy and initiative. This role includes managing the workflow of general accounting and tax and the client list is varied and lies within interesting sectors such as charities, property, manufacturing and much more.

You’ll be comfortable reviewing the work of the team and mentoring and inspiring junior staff to progress and develop their skills. You will also need to be able to offer flexibility to meet the needs of the business. You'll be personable and you'll be excited to become an integral part of this high functioning team.

Job Purpose

  • Managing an exciting and diverse client portfolio and overseeing the preparation of general accounting services for a varied client portfolio (statutory and management accounts, VAT.)
  • Working closely alongside a team of experienced and knowledgeable Partners to oversee the success of the firm.
  • Oversight of preparation and submission of financial reports.
  • Oversee the workflow for the wider team and take responsibility for the mentoring and coaching of junior staff and their continued professional development.
  • Problem solving and communication with HMRC and other relevant third parties.
  • Representing the firm at client-facing meetings and events.
  • Presenting to the Partners at board meetings.
  • All such other tasks as may be deemed appropriate to support the Partners and their portfolio.
  • Proactively investigate and identify opportunities for the firm and clients and be confident in presenting and discussing them with the Partners.
  • Represent the firm at business and networking events, developing contacts and relationships with new and prospective clients.
