Role - Buyer (Construction, Multi-disciplinary, Civil Engineering)

Salary: Circa £30,000 - 40,000 + benefits

We have an exciting new role for a Buyer (Construction, Multi-disciplinary, Civil Engineering), to join a small but highly performing Purchasing department for a leading Construction company based in Manchester.

You will be joining a specialist GConstruction and Civil Engineering firm whos projects to date have included large industrial buildings (a water treatment plant), to housing, schools, commercial offices, hotels, high security healthcare, prisons, rail and civil engineering projects.

Successful applicants MUST be coming from a Construction or Civil Engineering background.

The Role

Reporting into a Director and working as part of an established Buying team, you will be predominately office based, with some requirement to visit site.

You will be responsible for the purchasing of materials, sub contractors and plant for a number of projects within Manchester and across the UK.

Working closely with the project team, you will need to identify and procure the required materials for each project, be able to evaluate and forecasting demand, manage current levels of resources and identifying external material needs.

You will liaise with internal and external suppliers, negotiate prices and arrange for the purchase and delivery of the materials.

You will be able to negotiate and agree new supplier contracts, manage cost forecasts and reports relating to material requirements, evaluating supplier performance and compliance.
